Holly Clifton Brown

Tuesday, March 23rd, 2010

Holly is a super talented, self-employed illustrator living in Bristol.  Having worked her socks off for the last couple of years she has finally started to find a unity between her commissioned work and self motivated projects.  She is currently hosting a solo show at Centre Space Gallery which explores and documents this balance between paid and unpaid work, indicating the inevitable compromises that are often made in commercial success.  If you’ve been to Centre Space Gallery before you’ll be aware of the size of the space.  Filling it successfully can sometimes be difficult.  Holly has pulled out all the stops and filled the place with an awesome show of her works in the form of illustrations, prints, patchwork and a sneak peek of her newly published hard back book.  The show is only open until the end of tomorrow – an extremely limited time only so go see it!

We blogged the Soul Motive Showcase Mix a little while back and now we’re very proud to announce this showcase event at the Croft, on Friday 26th of this month.

One of Bristol’s brightest hopes for 2010 is joined by a couple of rising stars from Nottingham and London respectively. And to top it off, we’re flying somebody very special all the way from Bucharest to top the bill. Expect a mouth watering bass-fuelled blend of house, techno, dubstep and garage.

Props to Andy Musgrave for the poster design and Zachary Saitoti AKA Shifteye for the original photograph.

The latest installment in Rinse FM’s CD series is out today, mixed by long time Donuts favourite Oneman.  I haven’t actually bought a CD in years but I’ll be copping this and I suggest you do the same.  Big up Steve!
