If you wanna grab some A.IN.T for summer I’d do it pretty quick, it’s been selling like hotcakes. Very minimal amount left.
This is SUCH a good site, Jamie & I are rinsing it right now. There are hundreds of mixes, have a look about n see what takes your fancy. I really recommend “The Rub” section, they’ve done a History of Hip Hop section which is awesome, there is a mix of each year going all the way back to 1989 (1995 is a really good mix) all track listings included. Also I would suggest “U-Tern” section, great mix from Dam-Funk in there…all this 80′s funk up in here! Right now I have on the “MJ Mix” ARGH! It’s really good, good old Jacko. BROOKLYN RADIO.
Buy coach and club ticket for Dirty Canvas v Donuts in Bristol on Fri 13th Jun 2008, by clicking HERE then go to the about me section & click on Donuts X Dirty Canvas Flyer (keep Paypal receipt/email confirmation for proof of purchase). Coach will pick up punters at (a soon to be specified location) in east and west London. Places are limited so buy now! £20 all inclusive (coach there, back & entry to the club). It’s first come, first serve, there is no list, so as soon as you pay then your guaranteed a place.
I just love it when clothing brands on myspace add us & we actually really like the stock. Some things just aren’t suited to us but sometimes they really are. Coming out of the big ol USA is 21:MC….I can see it sitting perfectly alongside Tonite for Autumn/Winter & also Rockers NYC. Trying our best to get an order together, so if your real lucky you can see it in Donuts soon. They are planning a European trip in the summer with tour dates in Bristol & London, hopefully we can team up. As always will keep you posted. Here are some photos & some info quoted from the myspace…
“21MC (21st Century Maroon Colony) is a S.F. based conceptual streetwear company representing the west coast of the Afro-Triangle. Live from the Afro-Triangle, our purpose is to provide Tropical Wear garments to the urban Maroon Colonies of the 21st century. The patterns, rhythms, textures, and colors of Africa and Her diaspora, passed on to us by our ancestors, inform the way we create our collections and the way we wear ourselves on the streets. Each collection 21MC,, creates, tells of how we are living, our rebellions, and our survival”.
This was a site I discovered a long, long time ago & fortunately today I stumbled across it again. These boys trek about the country taking some serious photos of the underground, sewers, mental asylums, old hospitals…very creepy but very intriguing at the same time. Here are a couple of my favourite snaps & a link to Sub Urban. Go check it out.
If you can’t find our store at the moment it may be due to the fact that it’s entirely covered in scaffolding! The upper building is being repainted bright orange in coordination with the businesses/owners above us – The Orange Factory (Gingersnap modeling agency and Dangling Carrot PR consultancy). We’re still undecided about the colour hmmm……
So, Jamie has just been showing me some very very interesting stuff. At the very back end of our site there is all this nerdy, computer geek stuff that is pretty fascinating. It shows how many visitors you get, what country they are from, what people google when trying to search for Donuts, what time of day we get viewed most n all that kinda stuff. I cannot believe how many people look at Donuts, it’s pretty astounding & very encouraging seeing as we are still in our early stages. My favourite part of the geek back end is the “Connect to site from” bit, this shows what sites people have viewed & then linked from that site to Donuts. Made me chuckle a bit to see people repping us, who we don’t know (thanks very much). The top site was actually a site called Form Fifty Five, loads of linkage from that site, so cheers to whoever you are. Here are some other sites we wanna big up & thanks for the support (& we are gunna mention all those we dont know) BNTL, ATWG, A Tribe Called Next, Slam X Hype, Cake, Trapstar, Daddison, Official, Barclay James, NHTVSN, Preik, Omgivehadjp, Tan One, Kung-Fu London. One Love xxx
